We’ve all felt the life changing impact of a teacher. A high-quality educator can literally alter the course of a life. We want to create more of these moments for our students…and to do so we must invest in professional development for our teachers.
Jefferson Parish Public Schools, like high-performing districts across the nation, practice Professional Learning Communities. PLCs give teachers time to collaborate, analyze data, and share solutions that help target the needs of every child.
To give teachers this much needed time to collaborate with each other, Jefferson Parish will hold four early release days during the 2017-18 school year. On these days, school will end two and a half hours prior to the normal dismissal time. Buses will still run and school meals will still be served. Please contact your school for questions about after school care and after school activities on these four early release days.
