The Jefferson Parish Public School System and districts around the country celebrated National Arts in Education Week September 10-16. Observed during the second week in September, school systems and organizations use this time to recognized the impact of the arts, including dance, theatre, music, literature, design, media arts, and visual arts. Click on one of our short videos below to hear about the role arts play in the lives of some of our students.

JPPSS students receive arts education in a variety of ways. Many of our schools offer traditional arts classes and integrate arts into core subjects. JPPSS is home to two arts integration magnet programs, which are located at Clancy-Maggiore Elementary School for the Arts and Lincoln Elementary School for the Arts. Through the district’s Talent Education Program, students can also participate in Talented Theatre, Talented Music, and Talented Visual Arts. Many of our high schools offer award winning arts programs. JPPSS also partners with community organizations to offer arts opportunities to our students, like Martin Marino’s Dance Challenge.
