The Louisiana Association of Computer Using Educators (LACUE) awarded its top honors to a pair of educators in the Jefferson Parish Public School System (JPPSS).
Bissonet Plaza Elementary Media Specialist and Technology Coordinator Christine Smith Dauterive is the Louisiana Leader of the Year. Metairie Academy fourth grade teacher Claudia Suazo is the Louisiana Elementary Teacher of the Year. They were recognized at the LACUE Conference Business Meeting and Awards Ceremony at the New Orleans Hyatt Regency.

The two educators were previously announced as the Region 1 winners in their respective categories. Patrick F. Taylor Science and Technology Academy math and technology teacher Susanna Klusendorf had also been named the Region 1 Middle School Teacher of the Year.
The LACUE is a professional nonprofit organization that recognizes and promotes the use of computers in education. Its officers, directors, and board members include education professionals from across the state.
