
Jefferson Parish Schools will host a special application window June 24-28 for the district’s newest school Ruppel Academie Francaise, which will be located at Ruppel Academy for Advanced Studies. Students attending Ruppel Academie Francaise will experience the same curriculum as students who attend the district’s Advanced Study Academies (ASA), with the added benefit of daily classes in French.
Ruppel Academie Francaise will offer a challenging academic program along with courses in the French language to students in grades PK-3 in 2019-20. This application window is to fill remaining seats in those grades for the upcoming school year and is open to all families in Jefferson Parish. The school will expand by one grade each year, eventually converting to a full PK-8 school for the 2024-25 school year.
Applications will be available on June 24 at the JP Schools Administration Building at 501 Manhattan Blvd. in Harvey, at the Paul Emenes Building at 822 S. Clearview Pkwy. in Harahan, and on jpschools.org. Applications must be completed, include all required documents, and hand-delivered to the JP Schools Administration Building at 501 Manhattan Blvd. in Harvey. Qualifying students will receive admissions testing details, which will take place during the second week in July. Students must have a qualifying composite score of 75 or higher to be considered for admission. Ruppel Academie Francaise is not part of the district’s ASA, immersion, or magnet programs. It will be a unique school with a unique academic program.

Ruppel Academy is currently part of the district’s ASA program and serves students in grades 6-8. Current Ruppel Academy students will remain at the ASA school for 2019-20. Thomas Jefferson Academy will begin serving students in grades 6-12 in 2020-21. Patrick Taylor Academy and Haynes Academy currently serve those grade levels.
