Dr. Brumley’s 100-Day Plan Weekly Update: May 25

Dr. Brumley has celebrated graduation with just about every member of the JPPSS class of 2018. Eight of the district’s 13 high school graduations took place this week. Attending high school graduations is part of the strategies outlined in his plan, Love to Learn; Learn to Lead: A 100-Day Investment for a Stronger JPPSS.

RECENT UPDATES

Here is what Dr. Brumley was up to this week as he works towards completing his plan and helping build a strong foundation for the future of our students.

  • Attended the graduation ceremonies of Higgins High, West Jefferson High, Riverdale High, Helen Cox High, John Ehret High, Fisher High, and Grand Isle School
  • Appeared on WBOK radio’s The Good Morning Show with Oliver Thomas
  • Met with Thomas Jefferson High art student Truc Le and teacher Pauline Freeman. Le won the 2018 Congressional Art Competition and her work will be on display in Washington, D.C.
  • Visited Thibodeaux Elementary for the last day of school
  • Met with charter school leaders and leaders from the University of New Orleans
  • Spoke to teachNola fellows at their opening ceremony. Many of these educators will be teaching in JPPSS next school year
  • Educator’s Compensation Working Group continued holding meetings
