The Jefferson Parish Public School System is pleased to announce the launch of the reading initiative, “I Read! You Read! Together we all READ!”
We know that early literacy is critical to the development of our students’ academic, emotional, and social growth. We are inviting community partners to team with our schools as we strive to reach our goal of all students reading by the first grade.
There are several ways to help. You or your organization can donate a book or books to the library at one of our schools. After donating, the principal will provide you with a JPPSS Reading Movement name card that will be placed in the donated book. Your donation will reach many, and have an impact for years to come.
You or your organization may provide a monetary donation. The principal or librarian will purchase a book or books according to the monetary option you select.
Finally, you or your organization may volunteer to read to students at one of our schools. If you are interested in reading, contact the principal at one of our schools and they will assist you.
