Anthony Davis from the New Orleans Pelicans will hold a basketball camp at the University of New Orleans on August 7 and 8 for kids between ages 7-15. This will be the first camp Anthony Davis has ever held and he is excited to spend time with kids from around the city to help teach them the game. “I’ve been wanting to do a camp for the longest but I wasn’t able to,” Davis said. “Just having that time, whether it’s two hours or three hours, they get that time to enjoy and see that side of you that a lot of people don’t get to see.”
The camp will teach fundamentals of basketball and give kids an opportunity to interact with the star Pelicans player. Both days will have two sessions. The first session is intended for kids between ages 7-11 from 8 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. The second session is intended for kids between ages 12-15 and will be held form 1 p.m. to 4:30 p.m.
“I try to be available as I can when I can,” Davis said. “While I have a little down time for the summer before I get started, I think the camp was a good idea to try to put on just to have some of these kids come out…and just enjoy their time.”
